Kerry, Fossa and East Kerry star to open new 7,400sq. ft. store
One of the top footballers in the country will link up with one of the major players in the sports fashion retail industry in Killarney on Saturday and a bumper crowd is anticipated for the big occasion.
Brilliant Kerry playmaker Paudie Clifford will officiate at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for global leisurewear style giant JD Outlet at Killarney Outlet Centre at 10.00am.
Excitement is expected to reach fever pitch when the player many consider to be the most versatile and consistent in the country makes his star appearance prior to resuming his Kerry County Championship exploits with reigning champions East Kerry.
Paudie has had a sensational year, captaining his beloved Fossa GAA Club to the All-Ireland Intermediate title in Croke Park in January and he was again one of the standout performers as Kerry made it all the way to the All-Ireland final last summer.
His skill and leadership qualities earned him a prestigious All-Star award in 2021 and again in 2022 and Paudie is now chasing a magnificent three-in-a-row having again been shortlisted in this year’s nominations.
There will be a fantastic atmosphere in the Killarney Outlet Centre for the big occasion on Saturday with a firm focus on fun and bargains galore in every store.
Radio Kerry’s Francis Jones will host a live outside broadcast of The Saturday Show from 11.00am to 1.00pm and, if the excitement of meeting Paudie Clifford isn’t enough, there will be balloon art demonstrations and face painting to keep the younger generation – and the young at heart – entertained.
The JD Outlet development, in a prime 7,400sq. ft. space, will create over 15 new jobs, both full-time and part-time, and it will generate a very significant footfall given the popularity of the brand.
The exciting new addition will concentrate on the provision of the latest trends from the biggest brands in sportswear and it will be a big hit with sports enthusiasts and fashion-conscious shoppers.
JD is a global retailer of sports fashion branded and own brand casual wear, combining internationally recognised brands such as Nike, adidas, Puma and The North Face, with strong own brand labels such as Pink Soda and Supply & Demand.
Killarney Outlet Centre Manager, Paul Sherry, said the arrival of JD is great news for Killarney and it has generated great excitement.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the great Paudie Clifford to Killarney Outlet Centre and we will have some great surprises in store on the day,” he said.
